To all members
Would you like to become a Patron for Devon Conservatives? I’m following up because several people were interested when I asked earlier in the year, so I’ve got a very special invite for you.
Nb. As of the 27th of September AGM, I will be handing over the reins to a new Deputy Chair who will take over events and membership matters, and I’d like to gauge interest before then, and fulfil the promised follow-up. (If your Association has a Patrons group already, see below**).
Invite - Patrons’ Example Event - hosted by TTCA - special guest, LBC award-winning presenter and author Iain Dale, nr Bideford, midday Sunday 14th September - special offer to potential Patrons in the wider Devon area.
I’d like to invite you along to see how being a Patron works (an example is here).
Do come along and enjoy the event but also discuss how you might be able to support a local, or Devon area, Patrons group in the future. Includes lunch! There is a link to buy your ticket, please WhatsApp Debbie or email her to ask for it, and there’s quite a small charge. Also, Sir Geoffrey Cox is also listed to attend. Come and meet Torridge and Tavistock Patrons club members at one of several events TTCA have provided this year.
** Please note a few other Associations do have Patrons groups which you may wish to join if you are not a member already, and I’ll happily put you in touch if you just respond and say “patrons” and state what Association you are in, (or your postcode.)
And don’t forget our Winter Dinner on the 1st of November near Exeter – very exciting, fun event with an 80s theme, 80s menu, quizzes, and commemorating 50 years since Margaret Thatcher became leader with some fun facts! Limited tickets on offer, any queries just email me here or WhatsApp Debbie on (07949) 052208.
If you are curious about events being run by your own local Association, please let me know and I’ll do my best to find out for you.
Finally if you are an organiser of events and fancy helping out locally yourself, please let me know. I am happy to talk you through what the role entails, and answer any questions, then point you in the right direction.
Do come along even if you’ve never been to anything before – we’ll make sure you’re with other new members or people who are nearby, as far as we can!
And to keep up-to-date with our wider events around Devon, feel free to check our website from time to time, Devonareaconservatives.org.uk, where you will also find several other ways of getting involved.
Best wishes and hope you’re having a lovely summer!
Debbie
